2023 Language Exchange Activity

• Objective: Promote mutual exchanges between local students and foreign students and to expand students’ international outlook. Help foreign students integrate into the life and culture of Taiwan.
• Registration:

1. Applicants: NKUHT students
2. Qualifications: Participants need to complete at least 8 hours of language exchange before May 29 (Mon). Moreover, they must participate in the Sharing Meeting on May 31 (Wed) 15:30-17:30. Students who sign up but do not fulfill the conditions will receive a mark on their record. If you get two marks, you will be put on the Language Center blacklist and will not be allowed to register for Language Center activities/courses for the next two years.

• Language Exchange information:
  1. Matching: The Language Center will match language exchange partners in groups of 2-4 people. The Language Center will send emails to the group members before April 21 (Friday). Students who are not matched will also be notified by email.
  2. Time and Venue: Please do face-to-face language exchanges and arrange the time and place by yourselves. The Language Center will not provide a classroom.
  3. Language Exchange Topics: Set a theme each time, such as: "Local Food", "Campus Life", "Shopping", etc.
  4. Time Allocation for Language Exchange: The language exchanges must be conducted in foreign languages ​​and Chinese in turn. For example, if the activity time is 9:00-11:00, then Chinese should be used from (9:00-10:00) and the foreign language from ​​(10:00-10:00) 11:00).… and so on. Do not conduct the language exchange in only one language.
  5. Activity Record: After each language exchange, participants must fill out an activity record form and upload photos. If photos are not uploaded, it will be deemed that no language exchange occurred.
  6. Language exchange and sharing meeting: The sharing meeting will be held from 15:30-17:30 on May 31, 2023 (Wednesday), and all participants are required to attend. The detailed information of the sharing meeting will be announced in May.
• Notes:

1. If you are unable to meet during the above times, please do not register. If you cancel your registration or ask for leave/absence for more than one third (inclusive) of the total hours, a mark will be recorded on your record. If you get two marks, you will be put on the Language Center blacklist and will not be allowed to register for Language Center activities/courses for the next two years.
2. If you are on the Language Center blacklist, you may not join this activity.
3. If there are any changes, the Language Center will post an announcement on the Language Center website.
4. If there are unexpected or special situations during the activity time, the Language Center reserves the right to stop the language exchanges immediately.
