‘Mandarin Course’ Rules & SOP

Notes on Mandarin Courses for International Students

Because Mandarin Language Courses(note1) at NKUHT are divided by ability, international students wishing to take a Mandarin Language Course must fill out an "Add/Drop Form" in the Language Center during the add/drop period at the beginning of the semester. However, students may add/drop a Mandarin Culture Course(note2) online without filling out a form or coming to the Language Center.

  1. Freshman International Students: For the first and second semesters, the Language Center will assign international students to Mandarin Language Courses according to the results of the Mandarin Language Proficiency Test given during student orientation. International students who do not want to take a Mandarin Language Course must go to the Language Center to fill out an "Add/Drop Form" to drop the course.

  1. Sophomore, Junior, and Senior International Students: International students who want to take a Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced Mandarin Language Course need to fill out an "Add/Drop Form" in the Language Center. The Language Center Assistant will place students in the appropriate level Mandarin Language Course, ensuring that students do not inadvertently sign up for courses or levels that they have previously taken.

  1. Mandarin Culture Courses: The courses are only available for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior International Students.Students wishing to take them can use the school course selection system and register for them online.
